— OLD INFORMATION —
(As of February 28th, 2020)

Due to the effect of COVID-19, the Immigration Bureau of Japan has decided the special measures regarding applications for Change of Visa Status and Extension of Period of Stay from foreign residents whose period of stay is expired in March 2020.

The Immigration Office will accept those application until 1 months after the date of expiry of current visa status.

(*1) Excluding those who obtains Temporary Visitor and Designated Activities (for preparation of departure).
(*2) Including those who needs to apply for Permission to Acquire Visa Status; i.e. those who were born in Japan.
